A Clinical Laboratory is a facility that conducts specimen testing as its business. To open one, it must meet certain criteria set by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, including its structure, facilities, management, and methods for ensuring the accuracy of specimen tests. This is all in accordance with the “Act on Clinical Laboratory Technicians.” The lab must undergo an evaluation by the public health center and receive registration from the prefectural governor.
